SIBU: A teenager was killed after a vehicle rammed his motorcycle at Jalan Persiaran Brooke Drive on Saturday.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the incident occurred around 10pm when both the motorcycle and vehicle were moving away from the city centre.
The teenager was identified as Chipedo Lee Chi Zhen, 17, a despatch boy or ‘runner’; he was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Stanley said the driver of the vehicle suffered only minor injuries and was treated as an outpatient.
He added the 31-year-old motorist was arrested under Section 112 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for allegedly committing an offence under Section 41 (1) of the same act.
Police are investigating the case.
