KOTA SAMARAHAN: A teenage motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment following a road accident last Saturday (Mar 20).
The incident happened at Taman Stakan Perdana junction, Jalan Stakan around 8.30pm involving the motorcyclist and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle.
Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident happened when the 4WD vehicle was entering into Taman Stakan Perdana junction.
“As the vehicle was turning into the junction, it collided into the victim’s motorcycle that was travelling in the opposite direction.
“As a result, the victim identified as Nurfaisal Fitri Hasbi, 18, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.
“The victim, however, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the emergency ward,” he said.
He added that the victim’s body was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Forensic Department for further action.
The 4WD driver, 38, was unharmed in the incident.
Alexson said the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
