SIBU: A shop assistant succumbed to his injuries following a bike-sports utility vehicle (SUV) collision at Jalan Deshon on Sept 24.
Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the 18-year-old motorcyclist is said to be heading towards Ulu Sungai Merah around 7.30pm.
Investigations found that the victim had hit a traffic cone and swerved into the opposite lane before colliding with the SUV.
The victim suffered severe injuries and was immediately rushed to Sibu Hospital for further treatment.
“However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11.30pm on the same night.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” Alexson said.
