KUCHING: A teenage factory worker, who pleaded guilty when charged with molesting an underage girl, was ordered to rehabilitate at Henry Gurney School in Padawan until the age of 21.
Special Court for Children Judge Jason Juga ordered the accused from Kampung Tabuan Hilir here to undergo rehabilitation after hearing a recommendation from a social service officer.
The accused admitted to fondling the breast of the 15-year-old victim and was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Act Against Children 2017.
For the second charge, the accused admitted to inserting his fingers into her private part and was also charged under Section 14(a) of the same Act.
The accused committed both offences at about 9pm at the roadside of Kampung Santubong near Jalan Sultan Tengah here on February 24.
According to the report, the complainant lodged a police report that she was contacted by a friend identified as Aiman (accused) and another person identified as Illham who intended to meet her for sex.
The accused was arrested on February 28 at 11.05am by a police party from the Kuching district police headquarters and was identified by the complainant in an identification parade.
A medical officer examining the victim also found old hymeneal tear and redness on the victim’s private part as well as bruises on her breast.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurfadzlin Mahmad Zulhasnan appeared for the prosecution while the accused was unrepresented.
