KUCHING: BabyBaru, Darmadia and Artefact Studio (Swinburne University) emerged as the three top winners in the Tegas Digital Pre-Accelerator (TDPA) 2020.
Ten out of twenty start-ups from all over Sarawak participated in the programme that lasted for a week to pitch their start-up ideas and businesses to a virtual room of angel investors, funding agencies, strategic partners, and government leaders.
The participating start-ups were Jam Sea, GoHet, NO Q, Call Aladdin, urmalaysia.com, BabyBaru, Artefact Studio, Head Stream, Limessential and Darmadia.
Demo day winners received an attractive package that includes company incorporation support from Tegas, green lane to participate in Tegas Startup Lab and Sarawak Shell LiveWIRE as well access to SMA-TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub in Kuching, Miri and Bintulu.
“The Sarawak government has always encouraged public-private partnerships in driving initiatives that benefit the communities and Tegas Digital Pre-Accelerator is a great example,” said Tegas chairman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh in a statement on Monday (Jul 20).
“This is truly a partnership that we at Tegas appreciate, as it allows for our budding entrepreneurs to gain experiences and knowledge from a multitude of sources,” he added.
TDPA is a programme designed to take early-stage start-ups to the next level on the 13-18 July, from validating ideas into creating a minimum viable product (MVP) and a go-to-market strategy.
This programme was organized by Tabung Ekononomi Anak Sarawak (Tegas) in partnership with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), Watchtower & Friends and pitchIN.
