BINTULU: A telecom tower caught on fire yesterday morning at around 2 am.
The incident happened at a residential area in RPR Seaview Bintulu.
A spokesperson from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that the team of firemen was despatched to the scene immediately and managed to put out the fire around 3 am.
The telecom tower’s switch box and an electric substation had caused the fire to erupt and that forty per cent of the telecom tower was damaged by the blaze.
According to the spokesperson no one was injured during the incident.
