KUCHING: Teleport, the logistics venture of Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group Berhad), is looking forward to forging further relations and engagements with the Sarawak business community.

According to a press statement yesterday this is in line with their participation in the trade and business roadshow organised by the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) that kicked off in Miri on Monday (Mar 6).

Having received many enthusiastic responses from potential exporters, manufacturers and service providers in the northern city, Teleport expects to be meeting more seminar participants in Bintulu and Kuching later in the week.

Teleport, represented by its country head for Singapore, Natasia Jerah during the roadshow on Mar 6, said Teleport can be a key player and an important facilitator for trade not only between Sarawak and Singapore but also with the rest of Malaysia, the ASEAN region and beyond, by leveraging the AirAsia’s passenger aircraft belly space for cargo.

With more than 330 weekly AirAsia flights within, to and from Sarawak, Teleport is in the best position to provide unrivalled logistics solutions to farmers, manufacturers and food producers who wish to market their goods beyond their home grounds.

Apart from Malaysia and Singapore, Teleport further connects to the whole of ASEAN and the wider Asia-Pacific region that includes China, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, as well as South Asia and the Middle East.

Co-hosted by the Sarawak Manufacturers Association (SMA), the roadshow by STATOS is aimed at further promoting trade and investments between Sarawak and Singapore and opening more opportunities for Sarawak exporters to market their products internationally.

The first leg of the roadshow was held in Miri on Mar 6 and to be followed by Bintulu on Wednesday (today Mar 8) and will culminate with Kuching on Friday (Mar 10).

Participation is complementary and open to all businesses and individuals.
