MUKAH: Construction of the Tellian bypass and the bridge connecting Kampung Penakup Cina to Kampung Teh will be put out for tender in July.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi disclosed that the two projects had long been approved but only put out for tender in July.

“After these projects, I will be applying for the construction of the road from the bridge to the coastal highway,” he said during the Ziarah Ukas Ngiling Bidai programme at Rh Pantau Telajan recently.

Abdul Yakub added that there would also be work to repave the coastal road from Mukah to the Balingian bridge.

“It is hoped that with all these infrastructure projects, Balingian would one day be upgraded to a full district,” he explained.
