MUKAH: The new Tua Pek Kong committee members of Kampung Penakub Bazzar have started on the 101-year-old temple’s upgrading works.
According to its deputy chairman Kueh Bing Chuan, the poor condition of the temple has led their members to refurbish it.
“In addition to the upgrading works, we will also increase the number of statues in the temple.
“We will be assisted by the villagers of Kampung Penakub led by Sifu Kwang Kong of Sibu.
“Upon completion, we hope that users and worshipers can perform their religious activities comfortably.
“They are also expected to keep this temple clean at all times,” Kueh added.
