MIRI: The temporary road access of 40 metres long and 5.5 metres wide leading to Vista Perdana here which began construction in December 2022, is now at 50 per cent completion stage.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said the temporary access under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the developer company, Naim Cendera in collaboration with the Public Works Department (JKR) which is estimated to cost RM325, 000 , will be completed before this Chinese New Year celebration.
“The construction project faced some delays due to poor weather conditions starting at the end of last year and hopefully this project can be fully completed before the Chinese New Year. This is subject to weather conditions,” he said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS)
He said this after visiting the location to review the construction progress at the Vista Perdana traffic light intersection here on Friday.
Lee who is also the Senadin assemblyman said that the temporary access built on the path located at the end of the Vista Perdana shop building connecting to the Pan Borneo Highway will provide an access to the Vista Perdana residential area to facilitate residents around the housing area.
“This Vista Perdana access allows traffic from Jalan Pintas Pujut to change to Vista Perdana through the Southlake traffic light intersection.
“Based on the development plan, there is a new road connecting Vista Perdana with the Pan Borneo Highway and to the new housing area to be developed by Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB).
“While waiting for the new road to be completed, this temporary access is built to provide a route from the traffic light intersection from the direction of the Pujut bypass to turn to Vista Perdana without having to travel about four kilometers to the traffic light intersection under the Permyjaya Bridge and make a U-turn to Vista Perdana,” he explained.
