DEBAK: Ten men who are suspected to be involved in various drug-related offences were nabbed by the Betong Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division personnel here, yesterday.
According to Betong district police chief ASP Noor Illham Hadeni, the suspects aged between 20 and 30 were detained during a raid at an unnumbered house at Jalan Rapong here around 12 midnight.
“The 10 men have been taken to IPD Betong for further investigation,” he told reporters.
Noor also told that a plastic container with 25 small tubes inside suspected to be syabu weighing 5.2g was found in the house.
All the suspects are being detained and expected to be charged under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952 which provides for a minimum jail term of two years and whipping of not less than three strokes upon conviction and a maximum fine of RM5,000 and jail term not exceeding two years, respectively.
