LAWAS: Police detained ten men following a brawl between two groups using weapons at a bistro here on May 8.
Lawas district police chief, DSP Sila Kadong said the incident happened at around 2am at a bistro due to a misunderstanding and the fight resulted in injuries to one of the men.
“The male victim suffered facial and bodily injuries, and later lodged a police report regarding the incident.
“This incident went viral on social media which got the attention of the public. The case has been classified under Section 148 of the Penal Code,” added Sila.
“Upon receiving the report, a team from the district police’s Criminal Investigation Division managed to capture 10 suspects, who are all locals.
“They are between 18 to 39 years old, and are being remanded for three days to facilitate investigations,” said Sila.
He urged the public not to post videos or pictures of such incident so as to avoid any speculations that could provoke various parties.
