KUCHING: A Sarawak Government Delegation is in an official visit to potential investors in Henan Province and Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China this week, a press release stated yesterday.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development who is also Second Minister of Urban Development and Natural Resources  Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan is leading the delegation.

Tengah ‘s visit is among the efforts of the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development (MIED)to intensify the State’s Investment Promotional Programmes overseas to engage directly with potential investors so as to attract foreign direct investments.

Following MIED’s earlier promotional tour, especially to China, a number of investors from China have approached the Ministry on the investment opportunities in Sarawak.

The visit is on the invitations of two potential investors where Tengah will visit aluminium downstream. The premises they will visit are the manufacturer of Aluminium Sheets, Plates and Foils in Henan Province and a Passenger Car Radial Tyres manufacturer in Guangdong Province.  This visit will enable Sarawak to better understand the requirements of these investors and to give assurance to them on the advantages of investing in Sarawak.

Other than Tengah, others included in the official delegation are Assistant Minister for Entrepreneur & SME Development and Assistant Minister for E-Commerce Datuk Haji Naroden bin Haji Majais, Assistant Minister for Industrial Development Malcolm Mussen anak Lamoh, Chief Executive Officer.

Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot, Head of Entrepreneur Development Division MIED Samat Bin Junai and other senior government officials, the press release concluded.
