MUKAH: The Tenggiri King competition here, which aims to crown the best fisherman, will take place on June 17, coinciding with Sarawak’s 60th Independence celebration at the Mukah Division level.

Organised jointly by the Malaysian Fisheries Department, Mukah Anglers Community Association, and the Malaysian Maritime Department, the competition will be held at the coastal wharf jetty in Mukah and the surrounding waters near the mouth of the Mukah River.

Registration forms and competition requirements can be obtained at fishing shops in Bandar Lama Mukah (Fisherman Station, Yek Hwa Trading) starting from May 20. The deadline for participation is June 15.
