KUCHING: Information Management Sector Team B emerged as the champion in the Tenpin Bowling Competition of the State Education Director’s Cup 2023 yesterday (Feb 26).
The team members (Mohd Farid Abd Ghani, Yuza Haiqal Mohd Yunus, Rakiah Dollah, Hairunisak Mohd Runi and Fairoul Ashmey Pauzan) managed to knock over 1,905 pins defeating 22 teams.
According to its statement, the competition organised by the Information Management Sector (SICT), State Education Department is the first one ever held.
“This programme aims to strengthen friendships among the members of the Department through healthy activities and sports to relieve stress after a day of working in the office.
“Moreover, it is also expected that all members will become civil servants who are physically and mentally healthy and have stamina, strength, speed and flexibility and are able to perform their duties well and effectively,” it said.
For the record, the programme involved 110 players from the State Education Department and five VIP players, including the invited VIP players namely Mohd Herni from Bank Islam, Ahmad Uni from the Sarawak Council of Principals and Yazid Karim from Bank Rakyat.
This competition was participated by 14 sectors in the State Education Department and each sector was represented by at least a team of five players.
