BINTULU: Texas Jeremy Lo clinched an impressive knockout win in his debut appearance at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024.
In the quarter-finals, Texas only needed 6 seconds to defeat his opponent from Kelantan, Mohamad Rafid Aizril Mohd Farid Izuan via Technical Knockout (TKO) in the 54 to 57kg category.
The jab Texas delivered to Mohamad Rafid’s face sent him to the floor and forced the medical team to carry him out of the ring.
The 16-year old Kuching lad said that the fight went faster than he expected and wanted to enjoy the experience
“I guess it was all in the game play, straight punches. Hit first, hit hard, I just went hard and fast,” he said.
Texas revealed that he trains twice a day – first in the morning with his dad and in the afternoon again at the gym
“Everyday 6 days a week. First time ever (SUKMA) so many cameras so its cool. Its so grand and it’s so nice, I like it here,” said Texas.
Texas also took the opportunity to thank everyone involved in SUKMA and thanked them for taking care of the fighters and all the teams
“Thank you to my Dad as well, my coaches in Powerhouse in Phuket and my whole training team in SS Fighters,” he added.
