MIRI: Piasau state assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting yesterday expressed his thanks to the state government and the Public Works Department (JKR) for allowing the construction of an U-turn in front of Tudan Guan Ying temple here. Ting, who went to see the upgrading work, had requested JKR for assistance in constructing the U-turn. After the road was widened, the original entrance to Jalan Koniffer was blocked, causing inconvenience to road users who had to travel for three kilometres more to make a U-turn. Ting said in the past, Jalan Tudan was a single lane road which caused a lot of traffic jams. But now, it has been upgraded to two lanes. “With upgrading of the road, part of the original route was blocked. We requested the JKR for a U-turn to make it easier for road users. “The RM200,000 U-turn project will be completed in a month’s time,” said Ting.
