KUCHING: Formosa Television emerged the winner of Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year, while JTBC emerged the winner of Cable & Satellite Network of the Year at the 23rd Asian Television Awards at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) last night.
The winners for these two categories were presented by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Miss World Malaysia 2018 Larissa Ping.
The winners for the other awards categories are: The Remix Indian Season 1 (Best Music Programme); The Apartment, Passion for Design (Best Reality Show); Varawuth (Best Entertainment Presenter/Host); The Voice of Mongolia (Best Entertainment (one-off/annual); The Voice of Mongolia (Best Adaptation of an Existing Format); Still Standing Thailand (Best Game or Quiz Programme); Sinjai Plengpanich (Best Actress in a Supporting Role), Jirayu Tantrakul (Best Actor in a Supporting Role); Notification (Best Digital Fiction Programme/Series); Kim Nam Joo (Best Actress in a Leading Role); Cheng Rexen (Best Actor in a Leading Role), Siddarth Kumar Tewary (Best Direction-Fiction); Kurara (Best Single Drama or Telemovie Programme); and Something In The Rain (Best Drama Series).
The ceremony was enlivened with performances by international artists such as Trong Hieu from Vietnam, Qu Wan Ting from China and SF9 from South Korea.
More than 300 international delegates comprising award-winning televisions and film producers, directors, performers, host talents, judges, key sponsors, nominees and celebrities came for event.
Also present were Tourism, Art, Cultures, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, State Secretary Datuk Amar Morshidi Abdul Ghani and Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.
