KUCHING: The High Court here sentenced a local man to death after he was found guilty of drug trafficking yesterday.
High Court Judge Datuk Supang Lian ordered Jason Hew, aged 29 years, to be hanged to death after the court found him guilty of drug trafficking under Section 39B (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Justice Supang said the prosecution had successfully proven the case against the accused without any reasonable doubt.
Hew was charged with trafficking 211.95g of methamphetamine in a house at Taman Tematu Hill, Jalan Datuk Stephen Yong on Sept 11, 2018.
The prosecution had called seven witnesses including five policemen to testify in the case.
