KUCHING: Through The Pitch, Amelia Lim, the founder of Aquavermiponic Sdn Bhd, succeeded tremendously in her company’s equity crowd funding and Peer to Peer (P2P) financing exercises with platforms FundedByMe and AlixCo P2P to scale and grow her business effectively, according to JW Sam, marketing director of RH Vision, a Rimbunan Hijau Property Development arm.

The success in obtaining the funds demonstrates the capacity of entrepreneurs in Kuching and the potential that they have in the Sarawak economic landscape.

In a press statement, Sam explained that The Pitch is an initiative from RH Park that supports local SMEs through effective mentorship, alternative financing and more. Businesses which have passed the selection process will be given the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges.

During the previous Pitch, Lim was the chosen to pitch her business to the panel.

The panel was made up of SEDC chairman, Tan Sri Aziz Husain, managing director of RH Vision Ir. Peter Wong, financial analyst from FundedByMe, Andre Betker and Dr Jeff Jee from Swinburne University.

This initiative was founded by Sam in the hope of bridging the gap between established businesses and start-ups; as well as providing alternative financing for businesses in Sarawak to develop effectively.
