KUCHING: Due to the widespread outbreaks of African swine fever in China and European countries, the imports of all live pigs and products from these countries are still banned.

“Pork products, either in cans, smoked, salted, soaked in brine sausage and other means of processing, are included in this ban,” Sarawak Veterinary Services  Department said in a statement yesterday.

The department added it would continue to conduct checks in shops and other premises to ascertain these pork products were not sold to the public.
