Thieves break into engineer’s office

KUCHING: An engineer, 41, from Kampung Suba Bandar, Jalan Bau, Lundu, near here lodged a police report that he found his construction office at Jalan Daya broken into when he went there on Wednesday morning. Missing were three computer notebooks and upon checking, he found that thieves had entered the office through the toilet window. Total loss was estimated at RM8,500.

In a separate case, a female teacher, 58, from Merlin Garden here lodged a report that around 11.40 pm on Tuesday, a car blocked the motorbike she was riding at the Tabuan Jaya traffic light.

Three persons then alighted from the car and one gave her a blow, another grabbed her gold necklace while the third snatched her handbag. They also threatened her with a blunt object.

After grabbing her items, the trio fled. Among the items lost were her personal documents, cash of RM2,500, her gold necklace and house keys.The victim was also injured in the face. Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, a technician reported that at 2am on Wednesday, he was leaving a club at Jalan Green Hill when he was accosted by three persons on two motorbikes. The trio fled after grabbing his wallet containing personal documents and cash amounting to RM600.
