MIRI: Police detained three local men for allegedly stealing two bottles of motor oil from a gas station on Thursday.

The arrest was made a week after the alleged incident which occurred at Jalan Miri Bypass.

A 45-year-old man, who was believed to be a buyer of the stolen goods, was also detained.

The trio, aged 33, 34 and 35, was picked up from a house at Jalan Piasau Jaya 2A at 4.30pm on Thursday after police received a tip-off.

On the morning of October 22, a worker from the gas station where the motor oil was stolen from informed her manager on the missing goods during an inventory check.

The three suspects were caught after going through video footage from the gas station’s surveillance camera.

A police report has been lodged by the gas station’s manager.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
