KUCHING: 75 interim teachers in the state will be given the third and final chance to sit for the psychometric test conducted by the Education Service Commission (SPP).
This was revealed by Minister of Education, Science, and Technological Research Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong during a press conference at his office at Baitulmakmur here yesterday.
“We appealed to the Ministry of Education to give these 75 a third chance to sit for the psychometric test and that will be the final chance.
“They were very kind enough to agree to give another extension because these 75 were supposed to be up until the end of June and were given another six more months, up to the end of the year,” he said.
Manyin added that he also spoke to the chairman of the SPP who has agreed to administer the test two to three months from June, which will be around August or September.
“We would like to emphasise that they are trained teachers and have the necessary qualifications.
“The only thing is to test their suitability to become teachers,” said Manyin.
The psychometric test is a way to measure an individual’s mental capabilities and behavioural style.
