SERIAN: Thirty councillors of the Serian District Council (MDS) have been reappointed for a period of three months from Jan 1 to March 31 after they took their oath of office.
A news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) said Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn was present to witness the ceremony held at Roxy Hotel, here recently.
Sagah, who is also Tarat assemblyman, said the appointed councillors are responsible in the administrative policies of the district council, including proposing new and brilliant ideas in providing services to the residents of Serian district.
The ceremony also saw all councillors signed the letter of appointment and reciting the anti-corruption pledge led by MDS chairman Lim Hock Meng.
Among those present were political secretary to the Premier Damen Rejek, MDS deputy chairman Cr Asem Linkin and acting secretary of Serian District Colline John Siti.
