KUCHING: Thousands of guests visited the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House organised by Head of State Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife, Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib on the first day of Hari Raya at Astana Negeri.
Guests from various walks of life were served with Hari Raya delicacies such as lemang, beef rendang, chicken and beef skewers (satay), chicken curry, kuihs, layer cake, soft drinks and others.
The open house event also attracted the attention of tourists from abroad who celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Sarawak.
Children who attended the open house event were also given Duit Raya by Taib and Raghad.
Among the dignitaries who attended the open house were DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and his wife, Federal Minister of Tourism Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and wife, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan as well as Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and wife.
Assemblymen Datuk Henry Harry Jinep (Tasik Biru), Billy Sujang (Opar), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil (Mambong), Daruk Snowdan Lawan (Balai Ringin), Lo Khere Chiang (Batu Kitang), Wilfred Yap (Kota Sentosa) and Michael Tiang (Pelawan) also graced the event.
Federal Minister of National Unity Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, Federal Minister of Works Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi and Federal Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri were also present.
Former Gedong assemblyman Naroden Majais, former Santubong member of Parliament Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tun Jaafar and his wife, and former Batang Lupar Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim were among the notable attendees.
At around 2.40pm, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Datuk Amar Puan Sri Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang arrived at Astana Negeri to attend the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house.
The event provided guests with the opportunity to meet Taib and his wife, making it a memorable celebration for everyone who attended.
The Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House ended on a high note, leaving guests with a sense of joy and appreciation.
