KUCHING: Three men were nabbed by police for alleged drug abuse in Matang last Tuesday.

The suspects, aged between 25 and 28, were arrested at a parking lot at Taman Malihah by a team of police and Padawan District’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department.

Padawan District police chief, Supt Aidil Bolhassan said police found a small clear plastic bag and nine yellow sectional straws containing chunks of crystal substance suspected to be syabu weighing 2.05g in two small green containers.

 “Also found in the containers were nine sheets of paper containing five suspected eramine pills weighing 2.94g and worth RM300 at the scene.

“All three suspects admitted being involved in drug abuse since 2015. They also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he added.

The case will be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Aidil called on the general public to cooperate in abolishing drug abuse.
