BAU: Three men were arrested in two separate raids at Kampung Tabong Singai here yesterday (Apr 12) for involvement in drug-related activities.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the first raid, conducted by the Bau Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), was carried out at 10.45am at a house in the village.
“Further inspection found a small transparent plastic packet containing dangerous drugs on the floor of a room upstairs,” he said, adding that one of the suspects, 34, was arrested.
“Urine test conducted on the suspect returned positive for drugs. The suspect is being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said yesterday.
Poge said the second raid was also carried out at a house in the village around 11am on the same day.
Two men, aged 22 and 34, who have previous criminal records, were arrested.
“Although no drugs were found during the inspection, the suspects were tested positive for drugs. They are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” said Poge.
