KUCHING: Narcotics police arrested three men in two separate raids for illegal drug activities on Thursday.
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the first raid was carried out at Kampung Haji Baki here at 3.15pm.
A man suspected of involvement in drug abuse activities was detained for inspection and further checks found a translucent plastic package containing a crystalline substance with an estimated weight of 0.36g worth RM10 in the man’s wallet.
Aidil said that the suspect was also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, and admitted to have been involved in illegal drug activities since 2018.
In the second bust at around 5.15pm, police raided a premises at Kota Sentosa, Mile 7 here which led to the arrest of two men.
“Prior to the arrest, the duo were detained for inspection to which police found a red bag containing five translucent packages of crystalline substances believed to be syabu which was placed under the table where the duo were seated at.
“A total of 4.13g of the alleged illicit drug worth RM620 was seized. Both suspects were then taken to the police station to run a urine screening whereby both were tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, and admitted to have consume the illegal drugs since 2017,” he said in a statement yesterday.
All three suspects have been remanded for four days to facilitate investigations under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and 15 (1)(a) of the same Act.
