MUKAH: Police have arrested three men at separate times and places for involvement in drug-related activities.
Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said in the first raid, at a house at Kampung Masjid, Balingian on Sept 1 at noon, a blue straw tube containing crystalline substances, believed to be methamphetamine, weighing 0.13g was found in the bedroom of a 45-year-old man.
At about 2pm on the same day at a workshop of a factory, police arrested a 35-year-old worker and seized his sling bag, which contained a red straw tube filled with crystalline substances, suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing 0.70g.
During another raid on Sept 4 at 10.15am, the police found six transparent straw tubes, each containing crystalline substances, suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing 1.49g at a house at Kampung Sungai Alo here.
The drugs were placed in a blue plastic rack, which was hanged on the wall of the 22-year-old suspect’s room.
“All the suspects were taken to the police station for further investigation. Urine tests found that all of them were positive of drugs,” he said in a statement sent via WhatsApp last Sunday (Sept 6).
Jimmy added that two of the suspects were remanded from Sept 2 to Sept 6, while the other from Sept 5 to Sept 9 for further investigation.
