KUCHING: In the first two months of the year alone, police have busted three crime syndicates.

Outgoing Kuching district police chief ACP Ng Ah Lek said police arrested three suspects from Gang Emon (cable theft), three suspects from Gang Hakeem (24-hour convenient store robberies) and four suspects from Gang Ameng (violent crimes).

During his farewell parade early yesterday, ACP Ng said his men had been working tirelessly to bring criminals to justice, with 133 persons of interest hauled up.

Twenty-nine persons were violent crime suspects while the rest were involved in property crimes.

He reminded his men to continue with their mission, adding that he was confident they would execute their duties professionally and with dedication to keep Kuching safe.

ACP Ng also reminded them not to compromise their integrity by getting involved in illegal activities.

He concluded by thanking everyone for their support, and apologising for any shortcomings.
