MIRI: After a recent burglary at a café at Piasau Garden here, police have arrested two suspects and a buyer to assist investigation last Saturday (Oct 3).

The suspects, aged 26, 35 and 58 years old, were arrested in separate locations in an operation carried out by a task force team of the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID), led by Inspector Erwin Geoffry Ussan around 3pm.

The burglary incident took place on Sept 26, when the two suspects broke into the cafe around 3am using a crowbar and carted away cash amounting to RM3,000 and its audio equipment.

The duo had moved the stolen items out of the cafe that morning using a motorcycle in stages.

The incident resulted in an estimated loss of RM11,000.

Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol confirmed the arrest when contacted on Sunday (Oct 4).

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking.
