SIBU: Three family members burnt to death in a house fire at Jalan Burung Belibis, Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku Phase 1 around 7.50pm yesterday.
The victims were identified as Rashidah Suut, 80, Abdullah Bus, 64 and Suriaty Abdullah, 20.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said six others became homeless after the two houses were razed in the fire.
The department received a distress call at 8.12pm and dispatched 19 firefighters from Sibu fire station and Sungai Merah station to the scene.
The operation ended at 10.20pm while the bodies were handed over to the police for further action.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
