Three fishermen missing in Bintulu waters safe

BINTULU: Three local fishermen who had been missing while fishing in Bintulu waters since Tuesday were found at 3.05pm yesterday.

The Sarawak Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in a statement said the three fishermen Shamsuddin Dahlan, 52, Husaini Azman, 18 and Mohd Syazwan Shamsuddin, 17, were found by other fishermen at 22 nautical miles from Tanjung Kidurong.

“The victims are all safe,” he said, adding that all the victims had been given early medical care after arriving at the pier.

Sarawak MMEA said the boat which was towed due to engine damage had arrived at the pier at Kemena at 4.35pm and the Search And Rescue operations had been concluded at 4.40pm.

The three fishermen went out to sea at 3am yesterday to fish but were uncontactable until late afternoon. – Bernama
