SRI AMAN: A driver and two lorry attendants were injured after the lorry they were travelling in was involved in a self accident near Pakit Camp here early yesterday morning.
Sri Aman District Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Captain Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the three victims have been identified as Muhammad Akhtar Firdaus Abdullah, 32, Flynflecter Kidar, 28, and Mathew Lojan Lingang, 29.
“Prior to the accident, the 10-ton lorry driven by Flynflecter, was on the way to Lubok Antu from Kuching.
“Upon arrival at the Sri Aman Pakit Camp, Flynflecter was believed to have lost control of the lorry before it ran over a road shoulder and landed on its side in a ditch,” she said.
Siti confirmed that the accident caused Akhtar to break his left leg and to sustain injuries on his neck while Lojan and Flynflecter sustained only minor injuries.
“APM officers then took the three victims in an ambulance to the Sri Aman Hospital for treatment,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station (BPP) dispatched six officers led by PB Awang Adwan Awang Saari to the accident scene after it received a distress call at 7.26am.
“Our investigation revealed that the driver of the lorry laden with frozen food had lost control of the vehicle, skidded and landed in a ditch,” she said.
