SIBU: Three men were injured when the four-wheel drive they were in plunged off a cliff and crashed into a 15-foot ravine along Jalan Batu 6 here, on Monday (Feb 12).
Sibu Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Andy Alie said firemen from Sungai Merah station rushed to the scene, about 16 km away, after receiving an emergency call at 8.04 pm.
“Two of the victims managed to escape from the vehicle, while one remained trapped inside.
“Fireman had to extricate the trapped victim. The two victims who managed to earlier free themselves sustained minor injuries, while the third suffered severe injuries,” he said.
The victims were handed over to the emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) unit for initial treatment before being taken to the hospital.
