KUCHING: Sarawak recorded another three deaths related to Covid-19 today, taking the total number in the state to 120.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that the 118th death which was case number 18,504 was a 68-year-old local woman who was found unconscious by her family members at home.
“She was taken to Bintulu Hospital and was pronounced dead on April 5,” he said in a press conference on the daily Covid-19 update at the Old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building today.
Uggah said a rT-PCR test was taken and the result came back positive on April 7, and the case had comorbidities such as hypertension and dyslipidemia.
“As for the 119th death (case number 16,473), he was a 43-year-old Filipino man who was found unconscious by his friend at home and was taken to Sebauh Health Clinic,” he said.
He said the man who had no comorbidity was confirmed dead on March 27. An rT-PCR test was taken and he was found to be positive on March 31.
“The 120th death (case 17,102), the 42-year-old local man was admitted to Sibu Hospital due to breathing difficulties.
“He also coughed and had fever. An rT-PCR test was done and he was found positive on April 2,” he said.
He had comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes, and was pronounced dead on April 8.
“SDMC extends its condolences to all family members of the victims,” said Uggah.
