BINTULU: Three local man have been apprehended by police for involving in drug abuse activities at a nearby budget hotel in town.
According to Bintulu OCPD Supt Batholomew Umpit, Bintulu’s Narcotic Criminal Investigation Department took down the trio at Pasar Lama on Dec 2 (Friday).
“The suspects, age between 18 and 28, were involved in drug abuse activities and the distribution of drugs.
“The team made an inspection on them and found 5.2 grammes of methamphetamine.
“They also tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine,” he added.
All of the suspects are being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Batholomew reminded communities in Bintulu to relay any information on criminal or drug activities to nearby police stations in the district or contact the district police headquarters at 086-318304.
