MIRI: The Miri branch of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) arrested three local men and seized subsidised diesel worth RM176,660, suspected of being misappropriated at an illegal facility in Kampung Tukau, this morning.
The raid was carried out at about 4.30am today. The suspects are aged between sixteen to sixty years old and two of them are father-and-son.
All of them were detained on suspicion of being involved in the transaction of controlled good without a valid license.
Miri KPDNHEP chief Joe Azmi Jamil said a total 12,400 litres of diesel were seized apart from a tanker lorry, two units of pump and six fuel hose units.
Joe said, initial investigations found that a lorry had purchased subsidised diesel at petrol station around the city in large quantities before making deliveries to an illegal facility operating in Tukau.
The case is being investigated under Sections 20(1) and 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
