KUCHING: The State Health Department identified three new Covid-19 clusters today (Apr 21).
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement revealed that the three clusters were Sungai Lemayong Cluster in Meradong, Duranda Emas Cluster in Serian and Taman Mesra Bako Cluster in Kuching.
“There are 53 active Covid-19 clusters in the state. Of these, 12 clusters recorded 96 new cases while the other 41 clusters did not,” SDMC said.
The clusters that recorded new cases were Jalan Baji Cluster in Sarikei, Jalan Maju Cluster in Sibu, Sungai Kawi Cluster and Sungai Lemayong Cluster in Meradong, Jalan Kapitan Cluster in Marudi, Disso Cluster in Saratok, Abak Bon Cluster in Subis, Nanga Kelangas Cluster in Julau, Jalan Puncak Borneo Cluster and Taman Mesra Bako Cluster in Kuching as well as Jalan Tarat Tani Cluster and Duranda Emas Cluster in Serian.
Meanwhile, the committee also revealed that Song district had changed to red zone from orange zone after recording 53 local infection cases within the last 14 days.
“This increased the number of red districts to 22 while the number of orange districts has decreased to three.
“Eleven districts remain yellow while four districts remain green,” SDMC said.
Lawas, Telang Usan, Lundu and Simunjan districts remain green in Sarawak.
