Each of the organisation received RM12,800.

Speaking before the handing over, Dr Sim said that the fund is to help the organisations to pay their utility bills as their income had been affected during Movement Control Order (MCO) and throughout COVID-19 pandemic.

“We really thank the religious bodies and the places of worship for their cooperation throughout COVID-19 pandemic.

“When we asked them to close, they close and did not ask anything further. Because of them, we were able to control the outbreak in Sarawak,” he said.

Also present were Bukit Assek Assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, Pelawan assemblyman Michael Tiang Ming Tee, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Sibu Clarence Ting Ing Horh and GPS candidate for Lanang Wong Ching Yong.
