KUCHING: A family of three were abruptly awakened from their slumber following a landslide in front of their house in Kampung Surabaya during the wee hours of the morning.
Firemen from Petra Jaya and Tabuan Jaya stations were promptly deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call around 2.30am.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the residents, consisting of two men and a woman, escaped injuries in the incident.
On arrival, they found the residents unable to exit their residence as the main entrance of the house had collapsed.
They were helped out of the house through the window by the rescue teams.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation wrapped up at 3.35am and the teams returned to their stations.
