KUCHING: Three shophouses at Mile 3 here were razed in a fire with one completely destroyed while two adjoining ones were partly destroyed.
When members of the public saw smoke billowing from the shophouse at 9am yesterday, they immediately called the Fire and Rescue Department.
Batu Lintang fire station then dispatched a fire engine and 11 firemen to the scene.
The firemen have to force open the shop door to douse the fire. No one was injured in the fire.
The firemen said the fire started from the top floor and they are investigating the causes and losses incurred.
