MIRI: Three individuals including two women were arrested for suspected involvement in drug abuse in a house at Bandar Baru Permyjaya, yesterday morning.
The three suspects, aged between 25 and 36 years old were arrested in a raid at 10.00am, based on public information.
The raid was conducted by a Narcotics Division (BSJN) police team for Miri police headquarters that also seized drugs believed to be marijuana, weighing 1.80 grammes and 1.88 grammes of cocaine.
The suspects were then taken back to BSJN for further action including being ordered to undergo urine tests.
Deputy district police chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the arrest of three suspects.
“The suspects who are tested positive for amphetamine are being detained for further investigation,” he said.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 12 (2), Section 6 and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.Seksyen 15(1)(a) Akta Dadah Berbahaya 1952.
