SIBU: Police here nabbed three locals for allegedly committing burglary around the district during a month-long operation.
Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili in a statement yesterday said the operation to curb burglaries around the district was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) from Feb 15 to March 19.
Throughout the period, three men aged between 25 and 28 were arrested for alleged involvement in burglary cases.
“Also seized from the suspects are equipment used to commit the crime.
“Background checks found that all of them had prior records of burglary, theft and drug abuse,” he said.
Zulkipli said that with the arrests, the police managed to solve seven burglary cases that were reported previously.
The case is investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
