MUKAH: Three people escaped unhurt in an accident involving a car and a lorry at Jalan Kubu here yesterday.

Mukah District Police chief, DSP Jimmy Panyau said the Perodua Viva car was heading to the old Mukah Market when it collided with the double cabin cargo lorry that was coming out from a road junction at around 3.45pm.

He said despite the crash, all three victims, including a female lorry passenger, were uninjured.

The lorry driver, Alan Ting, said prior to the accident, he was on his way to Pantai Kaul.

“At the time of the accident, I was driving slowly but i forgot to step on the brake when I entered Jalan Kubu.

“I tried to avoid colliding with the car, but failed. As a result, my lorry overturned and the front windscreen cracked.

“My passenger and I took about twenty minutes to free ourselves from the vehicle. I had to break the left window in order to get out,” he said.

Police were investigating the case under Rule 3(2)(B) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN166/59).
