SRI AMAN: Three women narrowly escaped a fiery death when their sports utility vehicle (SUV) burst into flames after crashing along Jalan Loji Bayai early this morning (Nov 12).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Sri Aman station were deployed to the scene, about 11km away, after receiving an emergency call at 4.07am.
Upon arrival, they found the Toyota Land Cruiser overturned on its side and completely engulfed in flames.
The team quickly extinguished the fire using water from their fire truck.
The driver and her two passengers, whose identities were not known, reportedly escaped the vehicle unscathed before the fire consumed it.
Once the situation was deemed safe and there was no risk of reignition, the team ended the operation at 4.57am.
