KUCHING: State-owned television station, TVS, has received positive feedback on its decision to make its programmes available on myFreeView.
Since its launching last year (Oct 10), TVS was only aired on Astro at Channel 122.
“I am elated that TVS is now available on myFreeView. It is nice to see Sarawak there. This is especially helpful to Sarawakians who live in West Malaysia as watching TVS can ease their longings.
“I personally hope that TVS will air more local stories on eateries to support local businesses. TVS should also air stories about our local warriors or soldiers. I am sure they will be big hits!” said 36-year-old Faris Ikhwan.
Hercules Wong was also happy to learn that TVS was available on myFreeView.
“I have suggested TVS be made available elsewhere other than on Astro countless of times already. Finally, it was available on MyTV on the first day of the Chinese New Year.
“TVS is new to me. I only started watching it two days ago. I hope there will be more local dialects in some of the programmes such as news in Bahasa Sarawak, Bahasa Iban, Bahasa Bidayuh, etc. It will be a great way of promoting our dialects,” he added.
A 53-year-old housewife, Sentosa Perit, said it was good that TVS was now available on myFreeView.
“Not everyone can afford subscribing to Astro and they would also like to know what are new and interesting in Sarawak.
“I personally think that all the programmes are nice but I watch the news mostly. It is important to know what is going on in Sarawak.
“I hope that TVS will continue to provide good contents, news and stories about our beautiful Sarawak,” she said.
