KUCHING: A new route from Kuching to Jakarta and vice-versa as announced by Indonesia AirAsia recently has received overwhelming response by Kuchingites.
The new air connectivity to the capital city of Indonesia also comes with affordable promotional fares for its passengers.

It is a good start and effort made between Sarawak and another country that can boost the economies of both countries. I also hope for more direct flights from Australia, such as Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. We should go further to boost our state economy as we also have international events. Sarawak is rich in arts and culture. This is a good start to showcase what Sarawak has to offer globally.

I fully support the new direct flight from Kuching to Jakarta as it is beneficial to many industries. This includes the transportation, tourism and medical industries. Over the years, Kuching has been receiving quite a number of patients from West Kalimantan, Indonesia who are seeking medical treatment here due to shorter travel time.
