The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather alert for the occurrence of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several states across Malaysia, including Sarawak, until 7pm today (July 14).
The affected areas in Sarawak include Kapit (Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu, and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi).
The alert was issued due to the presence of signs indicating thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour, which are expected to persist for over an hour.
